Downtown

South Downtown is nothing if not a dynamic mix of geography. Just south of Portage and Main, it's a mix of modern high-rises and classic buildings with a downtown feel. Within easy walking or cycling this ethnic melting pot boasts a river walk of parks and green space anchored by The Forks. It's also Winnipeg's Art and Culture Mecca, including such luxuries as the Centennial Concert Hall, the Canada Life Centre, the Planetarium at the Manitoba Museum, and the Exchange District. The neighborhood has been steadily redeveloping with a solid collection of great restaurants and bars. It's also a hub for jazz, blues and soul. Despite its downtown location, it still retains a laid-back living experience vibe. And who doesn't love being able to walk to work?
